Friday 55

I miss you most on Fridays
when the weekend promises
us redemption, or escape –
whichever we are
more in need of

I miss you most on Fridays
when I sit down to write
in the early-morning dark of fall
with coffee, doughnuts
and not much to say

I miss you most on Fridays,
like today

      • Out of reply options.. down theRe..
but thanks for the visit.. other Mary..
to A ‘Kat of All Trades’..
as a poet i fit nowhere
        on line or offline
        and i take
        great
        pleasure
        in the treasure
        of being different my friend..
and as i remember your last
name is Bach.. and that always
reminds me of one of my favorite
        poet novelists.. Richard Bach..
        and truly
        he forecast
        my life
        in that
        Jonathan
        Livingston
        Seagull
        my friend..
as a seed to grow me..
        there is always a place
        to soar higher as long
        as
        free exists..
        and at least
        one bird is willing to
        KEEP on FLYING DIFFERENT..
as i continue to do that in poetry
dance and song.. like my hero Apollo
        SeA
        GuLL..
oh and there is that other Bach too..
        i also compose classical
        piano music..
        but carpal
        tunnel syndrome
        cuts that short..
        so i now
        continue
        to play
        with
words.. steps.. feat of feet.. art come me..
and keYboard sAMe sOng.. long.. for now..
no limits.. expectations.. for Human Nautilus..
now anyone can do it.. if they JUST believe..
never give up DOING iT.. NOW.. just NOW..
Oh.. and Happy Halloween.. endless colors
        endless costumes..
        endless humans
        play
        now..:)

      • I wish I could say I’m related to Richard Bach. I really enjoyed JLS and also his book Illusions. Am somehow related to the other one though! And sorry, I couldn’t find where to comment on your blog. Not sure if I’m just having a brain-dead day or what. Anyway, you have an amazing amount of energy and creativity! Wow!

  2. Yes, Mary, I miss him too. He started something special. And his responses to each one of them always made the writer feel special as well. I wonder sometimes if his family knows how much he is missed.
