I miss you most on Fridays
when the weekend promises
us redemption, or escape –
whichever we are
more in need of
I miss you most on Fridays
when I sit down to write
in the early-morning dark of fall
with coffee, doughnuts
and not much to say
I miss you most on Fridays,
like today
I was just thinking of Galen this morning as I sipped my morning coffee–how it was so much fun to write for him, and how much I miss him. 😦 Thanks for putting it in words, Mary.

Yes, the kick-ass weekend! His signature comment. That makes me smile thinking of it. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and Halloween if you celebrate it.

The weekend that follows perhaps compounded the issue and adds to the feelings of emptiness! Nicely Mary!

Yes, I think it’s great that the group at the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads are continuing the tradition, even if not every Friday.

I wish I could say I’m related to Richard Bach. I really enjoyed JLS and also his book Illusions. Am somehow related to the other one though! And sorry, I couldn’t find where to comment on your blog. Not sure if I’m just having a brain-dead day or what. Anyway, you have an amazing amount of energy and creativity! Wow!

I like how the poem allows us to bring our own background and plug it in, while relating to the feelings evoked by your words.

Yes, Mary, I miss him too. He started something special. And his responses to each one of them always made the writer feel special as well. I wonder sometimes if his family knows how much he is missed.
