Our lowest
common denominator
is wonder
Stripped down to our essence
clearly there is beauty
here
This is linked to Imaginary Garden with Real Toads where we have been invited to write some micro poetry. Click on the link and check it out.
I like this stripped-down essence. There’s something about science & math in here, but beauty transcends.

Maybe the beauty increases stripped down to its essence… really like what you did here.

Ha. It’s also possibly our highest common denominator–very cool. k.

Thanks Karin. You know, I thought about the negative connotation of ‘lowest common denominator’ and how that doesn’t fit at all. I couldn’t come up with an alternative I was happy with though.

I would like to think that each human being alive has the ability to experience the wonder of nature.

I love the idea of taken away all the frills, in order to expose the beauty of the deepest self.

“Wonder” we are indeed. (Reminds me of a Psalm, 139, which says in part, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made …”

Ah, interesting premise, wonder as commonest connection. Makes me wonder. 🙂

Lol, I am giving us a lot of credit, aren’t I? What do you think of the pronouns? How about if I had “The lowest…” and “it’s essence…”?

“The” would have far less impact… If it were my poem and I changed it to “the” I would eventually lose it altogether. 🙂 I think “our” is thoughtful and gives pause, which is good.
