We sit in a little cafe
run by latter-day hippies
with hand thrown crockery
thick and imperfect
dancing with color
plants hang
in macrame slings
I finger the three-tined fork
as you gaze at me
through the coffee’s steam
It’s time for an adventure
I spread the map
I think this still needs some fiddling.
I like the image of spreading a map. One I haven’t seen in years. There is a certain intimacy in looking at a map with someone. So different from each being on their own Google map!

Yes… the art of cartography. I love it and am fascinated to see how the content and shape of places/spaces on maps have changed over the centuries.
