A seed
becomes a world
a cell
becomes a species
for, the smallest thing
can make the biggest difference
So where will you go
what will you do
in this big,
wondrous
world?
When does routine
become compulsion?
When does ritual
become cage?
I do not
have the answer;
I only know that I chafe.
Like a blind dog
searching for water
we use our other,
inadequate senses
as best we can.
Can we sniff out love,
or salvation
in this dark, mortal chamber?
Ok, this needs work, like the “can./ Can”, so close together in lines 5 and 6, but right now I can’t take the time to fiddle with it. Another one to come back to.
Spring snow melt
leaves the grass greener
than the warm days before
And a sour beer
makes the savory meal
taste even better
Tell me
who you hate
and I will tell you
what you fear
Three strands
twisted into one
three lives
woven together
this bond we call family
I’m not satisfied with this for a number of reasons, but I don’t have the time to fiddle with it. Such is the nature of NaPoWriMo! Maybe someday I can improve on it.
Give what you can
when you can
expecting nothing
Take note of beauty
everywhere
This is not the secret
to riches,
but to wealth
Through the mist
soft feet pad,
a grey cat
melts into the sky
