Sudden Easter storm
buries the garden in snow.
There will be no resurrection today
Perhaps tomorrow
or later in the week.
Snow
Wordless Wednesday – Friends
Wordless Wednesday – Winter White
Wordless Wednesday – Snow Day
Wordless Wednesday – Step Lightly
NaPoWriMo #14
Spring snow melt
leaves the grass greener
than the warm days before
And a sour beer
makes the savory meal
taste even better
NaPoWriMo #9
The frost has left the ground
purple crocus are open
Sparrows are back
insistently calling
Old Sam, Peabody, Peabody, Peabody
to one another
Buds on maples are reddening
the first tiny leaves
on the lilac
have opened
as we tip towards the sun.
Tomorrow’s forecast is
10-12 inches of snow –
a typical April in Wisconsin
Disclaimer: I looked up the sound the sparrows make. If left to my own devices I just hear cheep – cheepcheep – cheep.

Spring is here
officially
Unofficially, tiny snow flakes
are dancing through
gunmetal gray skies
as if to taunt us
Last fall’s
dead leaves are
exposed like dirty socks and secrets
I go to the back of the closet
to get my winter coat
Happy Spring, suckers –
April Fools!
April is the cruelest month, and also National Poetry month. So in honor of that I will post a poem each day of the month. I should probably be linked to some helpful site that encourages this and gives writing topics, but I’m just not well organized enough to have thought about that. So, let the adventure begin.
